Hairspray sequel coming to theaters!

On Twitter, Hairspray fans got a nice Memorial Day surprise from Director Adam Shankman,

Shankman confirmed that Hairspray 2 is in the works, as he meets with writers this week to lay out the plot.

No word on casting yet but it's rumored that Efron & Travolta will both be returning.

Update: MTV Producers Bond Jesco Out of Jail

UPDATE: Wednesday, April 29th 1 p.m.
LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Producers from MTV posted bond Wednesday morning for Jesco White, the man best known as West Virginia's "Dancing Outlaw." Those are the same producers of the new documentary, "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia," which features Jesco and members of his family.

White was released from Southwestern Regional Jail around 10 a.m.

'Dancing Outlaw' Jesco White Arrested on Drug Charges

Boone County Sheriff Rodney Miller tells WSAZ.com that charges were filed against White Monday afternoon. He said investigators interrupted a drug buy between a woman and White.

Miller says the woman was going to sell cocaine to White and when deputies intercepted her, she allegedly had the drug on her.

A recent documentary about White from MTV producers debuted last weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival. Members of White's family said the film casts them in a negative light, and they say they have changed their ways since then.

White has been charged with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Actress Bea Arthur dead at 86

(CNN) -- Bea Arthur, the actress best known for her roles as television's "Maude" and the sardonic Dorothy on "The Golden Girls," has died of cancer, a family spokesman said Saturday.

She was 86.

Spokesman Dan Watt said that Arthur died Saturday morning at her home in Los Angeles, her family by her side.

She is survived by her sons Matthew and Daniel and grandchildren Kyra and Violet, he said.

No funeral services are currently planned, Watt said, adding that the family asked that donations be made to either the Art Attack Foundation or PETA in lieu of flowers.

Johnny Knoxville Bankrolling Bizare Mountain Dancer Documentary

Charleston — Filmmaker Storm Taylor doesn't expect everyone to be glad that somebody else is doing a documentary about Jesco White and his family. The star of "The Dancing Outlaw" has an international cult following, both for his mountain dancing and for his often bizarre antics.

Taylor says he's heard many times, "You're going to make West Virginia look bad.

"He believes people who think in those terms shouldn't turn their heads. It's really part of the problem. "It's not 'Hillbillies Gone Wild,'" he said. "A lot of people want to think that's what we're doing. The Whites are what they are. There's no faking it."

For the past year, Taylor and his film crew have visited Boone County. They've filmed White, his family and the people surrounding them for a documentary titled "The Wild and Wonderful Whites." The documentary is bankrolled by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Jeff!

Tremaine, the creators of the wildly popular MTV series "Jackass," which featured Knoxville and his friends performing dangerous, self-destructive and crude pranks and stunts.

Taylor says he understands rural people are sensitive to how they're portrayed in the media. He comes from Maryville, Tenn., a small town just outside of Knoxville, where he spends most of his time working in real estate to support his part-time interest in filmmaking.

"I met Johnny (Knoxville) at a pool hall in south Knoxville," Taylor said. "I came outside and there was a guy sitting in my car listening to my Johnny Cash cassette."The two hit it off. After Knoxville went to California and became a television and film star, Taylor worked on several productions with him and others connected with "Jackass."

He says he could work full-time in film and television if he wanted, but has little interest in making commercials. For a while, he filmed a regional travel show for Turner Broadcasting, which gave him the opportunity to explore one of his main interests.

"I love small-town culture," he said. "Any chance I get to see something small-town, a fair or folk art, I grab it."

The travel show had a limited run and was only available in 13 states, but it did give him the chance to meet White. Taylor says he was a fan, but they became friends.

"It all took on a bigger aspect than I thought," he said.

Seeing how White lived, Taylor got involved with the dancer. He and his crew stripped out old insulation and underpinned White's trailer. They built a front porch for him and worked on some of the electrical problems in the building. Taylor visited from time to time and hung out with White.

A chance meeting between Julien Nitzburg, one of the producers of the original "Dancing Outlaw" video, and Knoxville sparked a conversation about doing another documentary. Knoxville suggested Taylor would be the right man to do it.

"My key concern was that it be done correctly," Taylor said. "This is not a 'Dancing Outlaw Part 3,' but a reintroduction to Jesco and the entire family. They're fascinating people and I think many people are surprised they're amazingly likeable."

But he's not pulling his punches. Taylor's film crew spent a year following the family. Some of Taylor's footage includes filming people in jail or getting out of jail, people in rehab and even people getting kicked out of rehab.

"But we also talked to the sheriff," he said. "We talked to the attorneys. We interviewed some of the pastors from the community. We tried to keep it well-rounded and true."

Taylor says part of White's issues come from the intense poverty the family has endured over the years. A culture of entitlement has developed around them. A belief the family is owed money has caused rifts between people who could and would help them.

He says White is surrounded by more than enough "great friends," who don't care so much for the man, but would rather see the crazy character.

"They want to take him out drinking," he said. "They're the ones killing the guy."

Taylor isn't saying he hasn't been guilty of the same thing. Back when he first started coming to visit White at his trailer, he was one of those people who showed up on his doorstep with a jar of moonshine ready to party. Over the past year, as he's had the chance to see the value of those kinds of friends, he's changed his approach.

"These days, I call ahead and make sure he's got something to eat," Taylor said. "He doesn't eat right. He doesn't take care of himself."

Taylor says the film is almost finished. With another month of editing, "The Wild and Wonderful Whites" will be ready for film festivals.

"We have 500 hours of footage," he said. "This ought to be a six-part series instead of just an hour-and-a-half film."

Although he hopes "The Wild and Wonderful Whites" will be picked up for distribution at movie houses, he's realistic. Only a spare handful of documentaries get picked up for national distribution. A few end up as art house films. But he expects "The Wild and Wonderful Whites" will probably find its audience on DVD.

Dustin Diamond say's Celebrity Fit Club is FAKE & TELLS ALL

Who could forget season 5 of Celebrity Fit Club?

Diamond was a cast member of the fifth season of Celebrity Fit Club, during which his personality, his refusal to alter his dieting habits, his reliance on diet pills, his tendency to quit in the middle of physical challenges, and his antagonism toward his castmates caused much conflict. He particularly came into conflict with former American Idol finalist Kimberley Locke, country singer Cledus T. Judd, rapper Da Brat, and trainer Sgt. Harvey Walden IV. At one point during the season, he apparently quit the show, but later returned. Despite his insistence that he had achieved a peaceful state of mind, he continued to sequester himself from enthused participation in group events, refused to offer encouragement to his teammates during weigh-ins, and responded to criticism from the show's judges by claiming that he was being unfairly targeted. Tensions between Diamond and the rest of the celebrities culminated in an open confrontation between himself and Harvey Walden resulting in a comment referencing "physical combat," which Walden interpreted to be a challenge.^[3] Diamond started on the show weighing 217 pounds and ended with a 30 pound loss.^{[citation needed]}

Diamond returned for the sixth season Boot Camp edition of the show, joining a team of "second chancers" that includes Toccara Jones, Tina Yothers, and Willie Aames; he gained 30 pounds back to his starting weight at 217 pounds. Diamond appeared to be trying to follow the show's program, in a marked contrast to his behavior during the previous season, and was named team captain. However, the judges remained skeptical regarding him. Sgt. Walden openly questioned the decision to name him captain (saying Yothers should have been his choice) and another judge said that she was "waiting for the other shoe to drop" regarding his behavior.^{[citation needed]} When Diamond didn't show up for a day of work, claiming he was stranded at an airport by bad weather, Walden "fired" him as team captain and named Jones the new leader. While Diamond and Walden clashed again the following week when Walden called Diamond a "Nazi",^{[citation needed]} Diamond ultimately stayed and held his own for the second chancers. Later in the season he and Tina Yothers were traded to the Newbie team. Diamond lost 23 pounds on the show, for an ending weight of 194 lbs.^{[citation needed]} His team won the grand prize.

Dustin Diamond on a morning radio show today said the following about his appearance on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club.

The morning radio show "ON AIR with Sheila & JIM" whose call letters are WKEE
is a relatively small radio station housed in Huntington, WV.

"The only thing real about the show is the spelling of real in reality."

He goes on to say that "show producers were looking for someone to play the bad guy role.
Producers were first interested in having Warren G play the role but Warren G evidently did not want to.
They considered Da Brat but were not considering Diamond - not thinking he could play it off.
Diamond did however become the heel of the show and he claims it was all staged.
He was coaxed into his character role and encouraged to fight with other contestants."

About preparing for the show?

Dustin Diamond was not fat, at least according to him. He had not been courting the show it was VH1 that wanted him.
They encouraged him to gain weight prior to coming on the show.
Diamond said that everyone on the show including himself was drinking weight gainer shakes and pigging out on soda's and other high caloric foods to get plump before the shows start. This was to aid in rapid weight loss when the show began.

So it looks like VH1's Celeb Reality isn't reality at all - just a bunch of D list actors willing to do whatever it takes to get 15 minutes.
It all makes sense with reality dominating the tv front, sometimes you have to accept what is current and go with it.

Dustin Diamond became a common name around office water coolers shortly after the show began.
He was infamous for picking fights with other contestants and bucking the shows weight loss theme.

Diamond say's in real life, he'd never talk to people like he did on the show. He claims he's not remotely that person.

What is Dustin doing now?

He does stand up comedy 48 weeks out of the year - performing everywhere - including small towns like Huntington, WV.

Sex tape

On November 13, 2006, Diamond's sex tape Screeched, aka Saved by the Smell, was released by Red Light District. It features a bride-to-be, Summer Price, her bridesmaid, and Diamond all engaging in various sexual acts. According to Diamond, the tape got out because he and some friends allegedly exchange such tapes and he believed that the tape was not leaked by any of those people, but that it may have been the significant other of one of them.^[15] Diamond's manager acknowledged there was hope that the tape would raise his client's profile.^[16]

Chris Brown and Rihanna Back Together Again

Those hoping Rihanna would completely sever ties from Chris Brown will have to wait a bit longer.

Less than three weeks after the alleged assault, the “Disturbia” singer and her (former?) beau have reunited. According to a source for People magazine, the two (along with one of Jay-Z’s bodyguards) are currently spending time together at one of Sean Combs’ homes on Miami Beach’s Star Island. (A relaxed Brown was recently snapped jet skiing in the area.)
